Working out of my studio in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle, I offer in person and online 8 week group courses in instrumental instruction and music production to all ages. Courses are crafted to meet each student at their skill level, working toward inspiring a love of music and an intrinsic desire to learn.

As a music instructor I've taught group and private lessons for 20 years. I began working in after school enrichment as the Director of Extended Day at the Bertschi School. Most recently teaching audio production and songwriting at the Bertschi School, Lowell and Concord elementary schools, and at Jack Straw Cultural Center.

After School Audio Production Course Description: Using the Garageband app for iOS we look at various styles of music rock, pop, hip hop, classical, jazz and identify the building blocks essential to each - drums, bass, chords, lead instruments, vocals. We talk about musical artists from each genre and highlight people of color in the arts and what they have contributed. Then we create our own by recording instruments ourselves if kids have some musical experience or we use the pre recorded samples contained in the software. We talk about overall balance of sound, mixing basics, and general songwriting forms. Then we share what we've created.
